Tiahuanacu, Bolivia

One of the most important sites in Bolivia that consist of over 600 hectares of pyramids, a semi-subterranean temple, graves, a canal, lithic construction and effigies and more.

Semi-Subterrian Temple
Buried until recent times this is the best preserved temple of Tiahuanacu. The wall is decorated with carved heads. Each appears to be a different personage. In the center are three Monoliths of importance. Some think that its use was political, others religious and others posit a blood-sport arena. See the gallery of 'Heads of Tiahuanacu'.
